Obituary
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her entire family at the Health Science Centre on Thursday February 10th, 2022, age 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Frank Michael (2005).Leaving with fond and loving memories her children John (Jennifer), Ann, Stephanie (Gerry Organ) and Jennifer (Sherry Lundrigan) and her grandchildren Simon, Jane, Sarah, Elizabeth and Ian.
Born in Yorkshire, England, Mom trained as a nurse and was subsequently recruited by Bowater’s to a position in Corner Brook in 1954. After retiring from nursing, she much enjoyed volunteering at the Hospital Diabetic Clinic and school libraries. Mom always maintained an endless curiosity, an independent nature and a strong belief in the importance of education; all of which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. After the death of her husband Frank, at the age of 76 she moved to downtown St. John’s. She enjoyed an independent life, exploring the walking trails, downtown restaurants and her weekly visits to the public library.
Mom’s legacy to her family – “Soldier On”
Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will take place. Donations can be made to Stella’s Circle or make a blood donation in her memory.
