1936-2022
The passing of Muriel Elizabeth (Thompson) Lomax, wife of the
late Merrill Lomax occurred at the Fundy Nursing Home,
Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, on December 22, 2022. Born at Blacks
Harbour NB on August 31, 1936, she was the daughter of the late
Chandler and Elva (Cross) Thompson.
A loving mother, grandmother,
she is survived by her beloved children: Margaret (Lewis) Burke of New
River NB, Donald Lomax of Pocologan NB, Susan Lomax (Glen Burt) of
Lepreau NB, Michael (Tracy) Lomax and Lorraine (Lowell) Donner, both
of New River NB, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren,
several cousins as well as her best friend and companion Morina
Bradford. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband Merrill, great grandson Jackoby Paul and her brother Larry
Thompson.
In her earlier years Muriel
worked at Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour. Her true occupation was
a homemaker and raising her large family. Muriel also did other jobs
such as wreath making. She had a passion for writing songs and poetry.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. In keeping with
Muriel’s wishes there will be no visiting or service at this time. A
graveside service will be held in the spring. In memory of Muriel,
donations to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by
the family.
