Mrs Lois Ogilvie BLANCHETTE (1920 – 2022 )
Passed away at the Grace Village, Sherbrooke on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the age of 102. She was the daughter of the late Nelson Ross Ogilvie and the late Orminda Emilie Hoarer and the loving wife of the late Judge Jean-Guy Blanchette.
Mrs. Blanchette was the sister-in-law of the late Lucille Blanchette, the late Denis Blanchette (the late Claire), the late Hélène
Blanchette (the late Armand), the late Pierre Blanchette (the late Julienne), the late Jacques Blanchette (Monique), the late Claude (the late Marguerite), the late Roger (Ginette), the late Michel (Micheline). She leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, cousins, other friends and relatives. She also leaves many friends from various choirs.
Family and friends will meet at the Steve L. Elkas Complex, 4230 Bertrand-Fabi, Sherbrooke, on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by the service in the Complex chapel at 12:45 p.m. The burial will be held at the Pinecrest Cemetery in Ottawa at a later date.
The family would like to thank all the staff of the Grace Village and of the Résidence Les Seigneries du Carrefour for the kind and professional care given to Mrs. Blanchette.
As a memorial tribute, donations to the Maison Aube Lumière, 3071, 12e Ave Nord, Sherbrooke, Qc, J1H 5H3, would be appreciated.
She dedicated her life to music and song.

  1. Lois was one of a kind for sure. Although I didn’t know her well, she was my Mum’s very best friend in the world. Even after we moved to Ottawa Mum and Lois stayed in close touch. Such a vivacious and talented lady will be greatly missed but no one can say she didn’t live her life to the fullest. My sympathies to Lois’ family and friends.
