It
is with great sadness that the family of Morley Cluett, age 86 of
Country Harbour Lake, Guysborough County announce his passing on
Thursday, August 11, 2022, surrounded by his family in High-Crest
Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. He was a son of the late Eugene and
Mary Selena “Minnie” (Bond) Cluett. During his working
years, he made his living as a partner in Pro-Siding as an installer
and contractor in Halifax and Dartmouth. He enjoyed bowling and a good
round of golf with friends and family. During his later years, he
spent most of his time at Country Harbour Lake with his wife, Verna,
enjoying the warmth of his wood stove and “silent TV”.
Morley is survived by his wife of 61 years, Verna (Webber), and was
the loving father of three sons, Eugene and Darren, Halifax; Robert
(Connie), St. John’s, Newfoundland; sisters, Marion Parsons,
Newfoundland; Hazel Harding, Dartmouth; Doris (Jim) Day, Rita (Roy)
Hardiman, Eileen (Harold) Matthews, Linda Bulger, all of Newfoundland;
sister-in-law, Rose Cluett, Texas; brother-in-law, Jack Matchem,
Halifax; many loving nieces, nephews and their families. Morley also
leaves behind extended family and friends, including his special
grandson, Hunter who fondly referred to him as “Grumpy Mor”,
with their cherished memories and thoughts. He was predeceased by
brother, Walter; sisters, Gwen Cluett and Effie Matchem;
brothers-in-law, Willis Parsons, Bob Dunn, Pat Bulger and Eric
Harding. A graveside service will be held Saturday,
September 10, 2022 at 2 p.m. in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Indian Harbour
Lake. Memorial donations may be made to Sunset Rest
Cemetery or St. Thomas Anglican Church, Indian Harbour Lake. Funeral
arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W.
