It is with profound sadness that the Children of Monique Reanne Pepin announce her peaceful passing on April 1, 2022, at the age of 59 years after a long battle with Dementia.
Monique was a devoted Mother and Grandmother who will be forever missed by her seven grandchildren and four children Lee Schofield, Chelsea Bernhard, Gillian Schofield and Hayley Dean as well as her lifelong friend Sylvia Boutette and other immediate and extended family members.
Monique’s spirit was about embracing life, serving others, and bringing laughter and color to the world. She established her own clowning business in her 30’s and was well known around Winnipeg as Minnie the clown. She was also well known as one of the first buskers to ever busk at the Forks Market. With her passion for individuals, and life she returned to school in her 40’s to obtain her recreational facilitator Diploma and went on to work in Palliative Care at Riverview Health Center.
Monique touched the lives of many around her and many lives touched hers. Her light and spirit were contagious, suffering from depression and mental illness for many years Monique was always one to be open about her suffering and shine a light on it to help others that may have been suffering as well. Sadly in 2011 Monique was diagnosed with Dementia.
The journey has been long, and the road not always easy, but her children have together in strength and support walked the journey with her and know she will be with them always in spirit. Monique will be remembered for her smile, her warmth, her energy and her love for life by many.
A celebration of Monique’s life will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 1:00 pm at The Canalta Hotel, 1061 Manitoba Ave, Selkirk Mb
Don’t remember me with sadness
Don’t remember me with tears
Remember all the laughter
We have shared through out the years
Now I am contended
That my life was worthwhile
Knowing that I passed along the way
I made somebody smile
When you are walking down the street
And you got me on your mind
I’m walking in your foot steps
Only half a step behind
So please don’t be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight
Remember that I’m with you
Each morning, noon and night.
We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends,
