Mona Bishop 19432022

Mona Bishop
1943-2022
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Mona
Bishop, 79, of Petitcodiac at the Jordan LifeCare Centre on June 23,
2022. Born in Petitcodiac she was a daughter of the late Emery and
Phyllis (Young) Morton.
Mona is survived and sadly missed by her sons: Pat (Mary Ann)
Lewis, Phillip (Sharon) Lewis and Michael (Pam) Lewis; her daughter,
Wanda (Keith) Melvin; grandchildren: Ricci (Travis) LeBlanc, Mac
(Brittney) Melvin, Delaney Lewis and Bowen Lewis; great grandchildren:
Kenna, Maddie, Drew and Kaylee; her brothers: Ron Morton (Chris), Paul
Morton (Glenda) and Vincent Morton (Vern); her sisters, Eleanor
Renshaw (Blair), Sandra Morton as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Mona was very fortunate to have touched the lives of so many
young children while caring for them in her home, her greatest
blessings were her four children, she was very proud to have raised
them on her own. But of all, her heart was fullest spending time with
her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sunday suppers were her
favourite part of the week along with Friday night jam
sessions.
Besides her parents, Mona was predeceased by her husband Bill
Bishop; brothers, Reg and David; sister-in-law Judy; brother-in-law
George and her very special cat Bootsy.
The family would like to express a sincere, heartfelt thank
you to the staff at the Fawcett’s Rest Home, Jordan LifeCare
Centre and Dr. Morton for their compassion shown toward Mona and the
family. A very special thank you to Jean and Henry for always making
sure Mom got to her Jam Sessions when she was able, Tom and Alta
Burgess for always making sure Mom was able to get to her bus tours
and to Bev Boudreau at the Jordan LifeCare Centre for always going
that extra mile. We are forever grateful. ❤
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury
Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) from where visitation will be
held on Saturday, June 25th, 6 – 8
