CASSIE CHIKANE
January 3, 2009 – March 14, 2022
It is with broken hearts, that we announce the passing of Miss Cassie Monique Lavonne Danielle Chikane, age 13 years, on Monday, March 14, 2022 in London Children’s Hospital.
Cassie was born in Thunder Bay on January 3, 2009. She was a shy, quiet girl, but had the biggest smile and a great sense of humour. For those whom she was close too, Cassie was always goofy and loud. She enjoyed action and horror movies, or any other type that looked interesting, reading and always had music on, especially Korean. Her greatest joy was spending time with all of her family. She was so proud of her sisters and of her big brother.
Cassie will be deeply missed by her mother Christina Quequish (Doug Fox); father Giles Chikane; brother Israel; sisters Ava, Cheyanne, Lily and baby Shannon; grandparents Sandra and Bernie Quequish and Doreen Chikane; Great grandmother Caroline Quequish; aunts and uncles Sharla Chikane, Miguel Quequish, Wayne Kakekayash and Aleshia Chikane. She also leaves behind Marissa Sakchekapo, whom she loved as her other mom, and grandma Karen Sakchekapo as well as numerous cousins and other extended relatives.
She was predeceased by her grandfather Timothy Chikane, uncle Trevor Chikane and aunt Shannon Kakekayash, Great grandparents Juliet and Alex Kenequanash, and Great grandfathers Maio Quequish, Great grandparents Albert & Rhoda Tait, Great grandparents Isiah & Rhoda Chikane and numerous other family members.
Visitation for family and friends of Cassie will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 12:00pm until 3:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay.
