Allan (Foley), Miriam Elizabeth (nee Wallington) died peacefully after a short stay in hospice in Collingwood on December 9, 2022, in her 89th year. Survived by her children Allan Foley and Anne Moore (David), grandsons Chris (Laura), Drew (Andrea) and Don (Sarah), great grandchildren Desmond, Keira and Adeline, sister Grace Willson and eight nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 40 years Doug Foley, daughter in law Peggy Foley, husband of 13 years Andrew Allan, sisters Marj Wallington and Barb Oaks and her parents Robert and Elsie.
Mim was born in Hamilton on October 26, 1934 and raised in Burlington. She graduated as an RN from Kingston General Hospital in 1956 and returned to work as an instructor in and eventually head of the Medical Secretary Program at Georgian College in Barrie. A born hostess, Mim enjoyed cooking for family and friends and hosting her bridge clubs.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Fawcett Funeral Homes, Collingwood, ON. Celebration of life arrangements pending. Internment will follow at a later date at Barrie Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church, Collingwood ON, Trinity Donations, St. Paul’s United Church, Sus NB St. Paul’s Donations or the Arthritis Foundation of Canada Arthritis Society Donations
