Mildred Sharpin
May 7, 1934 –
October 28, 2022
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Millie (Nana) in her 88th year.
Beloved mother to Brenda Lee (Jerome), beloved sister to Sadie Morgan & Devetta Sharpin. Cherished Nana to Kyle (Angela), Evelyn (Andrew). Survived by her reat-grandchildren (the twinkles of her eye) Parker & Rylee. Special Auntie to Kirk & Dougie. The love she held for her great nephews and niece and there families in Kenora. She will be greatly missed by ALL who were blessed to know her kind warm hearted ways. Special thank you to the amazing staff at Joseph Brant Emergency & Palliative Care units, as well as the ambulance attendants, who took the time to come and see us to talk about Millie, it meant so much to us. We are also very thankful for her dear friend Muriel who waited by her side while awaiting the ambulance.
Special thoughts from Evelyn:
So many things come to mind when I think of Nana. Her love for plants and flowers, the rolled up Kleenexes she kept in her sleeve, her love for Pepsi and sweets, and her obsession with little nick knacks she enjoyed collecting for her balcony.
Nana had a special way of making her presence known. Everywhere she went people knew who she was, and her cheerful voice always brightened everyone’s day.
Her love for her great grandchildren was unbelievably strong, and I’m so overjoyed that they were able to spend so much time with her. The memories of shopping trips, market walks while Parker road on her walker, and lunches at Kelsey’s will forever be carved in my mind.
The memories she made with us will last forever.
Mom will be reunited with her mother (Evelyn Sharpin nee Woodward) and father (Howard Sharpin).
A private cremation has taken place, the family has chosen to hold a celebration of life at a later date.
