Yurcich, Mike – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mike (Mijo) Yurcich at the age of 98 on April 18, 2022. He passed away peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital. He is predeceased by his wife Wilma Yurcich, his parents Barbara and Steve Yurcich, his sister Helen Petrachek, nephew Steve Petrachek and brother-in-law Rudy Petrachek. He is survived by his daughter Irene Bogucki (Terry) and son Ivan Yurcich (Jay). Also survived by his granddaughters Jennifer Bogucki and Stephanie Bogucki (Henry), his grandsons Todd Yurcich (Kirsten) and Aaron Yurcich and his nephew Tom Petrachek. Mike was a proud member of the Croatian National Home in Welland and also a long time member of Lodge 617. He was a devoted member and founder of the Croatian Seniors Club. He worked at the Ford Glass Plant in Niagara Falls for over 25 years. He came to Canada at the age of 12 from Lazina Croatia Yugoslavia with his sister and his mother. His father arrived at an earlier date. He married Wilma in 1946 and had two children. He was a loving husband and caring father and grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Welland County General Hospital, charity of your choice or the Croatian National Home, 6 Broadway Ave., Welland. Special thanks to all the caring staff at Plymouth Cortage Retirement residence and staff at the Welland County General Hospital. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a service in the Cudney Chapel. A private burial will be held at a later date.
