Michel Mike Roy 2022

Michel Gerard Roy was born on April
2nd, 1974, in Moncton, New Brunswick. Mike (as
he was known to his family and friends) passed away peacefully with
his family by his side on April 22nd, 2022.
Mike battled with Type 1 Diabetes since a young child which
led to kidney failure and heart issues in recent years.
Mike graduated from École Mathieu-Martin in 1992
and went on to study Electronics at RCC Institution of Technology in
Toronto, Ontario. From there, he traveled and worked in Ontario and
the US for his job with Brockville EIT (Eastern Independent
Telecommunication). He his work for EIT and his time there but missed
his family and moved back to Moncton. After, he had various employment
until he started working for Hardman Group Ltd. For thirteen years as
head of Property Maintenance for Moncton City Hall, he not only was a
valued employee but formed lifelong friendships he
cherished.
He loved life and everything in it. He never knew a stranger
and made everyone feel welcome. Mike was so much more than his health
struggles that he faced. He always took on these challenges
with a smile and never complained. Mike was a hero as he
remained strong during each obstacle that he went
through.
Mike had a passion for anything with a motor, especially his
Toyota MR2 (known as Redsled), his 4-wheeler, and jet ski. From a
young age he was always tinkering whether it was a dirt bike, a bike
or a car. He also loved talking to anyone that would have a
conversation about those passions, even his two cats. Mike was a huge
influence and mentor on the car scene to many and always made time to
help and advise on anything related to cars.
He had a way of making everyone laugh and have a great time
when they were around him. Anyone who knew him, knew he had a heart of
gold. He would give you anything; his time, a story, an adventure, but
most of all, his kindness. He lived his life by a motto ‘the
world is round.’ He felt to do a favor for someone the favor
would return itself someday. His mild temperament and humor were
always a source of positivity.
Mike loved working in his garage at home. When he
wasn’t in there, he was out helping someone with a project,
or you could find him out on the trails 4 wheeling with his
buddies. He loved music, watching UFC and playing with his
two cats Lila and Milo. Mike could also be found roaming the
aisles for a good deal at his favorite store, Princess
Auto.
He loved his ‘little slice of heaven,’ as
he called it, at his property in Grand Lake. If he
wasn’t out on the water with his jet ski, or sitting by the
campfire, he would be working on his property which he made into a
beautiful summer getaway for his family.
Mike is survived by his loving partner, Tanya Campbell and
was a loving and devoted Stepfather to son Aidan and daughter Haley.
His biggest love and proudest accomplishment were his
family. Mike and Tanya had a deep love for each other full
of laughter and fun. Aidan and Haley were the pride and joy
of his life. His zest for life, fun spirit and positivity
will live on through them.
Son to Shirley and Sylvio Roy, brother to Chantal Melanson
(Tony Fournier). Uncle to Stephanie and Dominic Melanson and Luke
Killam. Brother in-law to Jason and Jaclyn Killam and son-in law to
Karen Killam.
Mike is preceded in death by his Grandparents Henry and Dora
McPherson, Grandparents Gerard and Adelia Roy and his beloved Uncle
Joe and Aunt Noella Mills.
“Enjoy life today because you might not get a chance
later” Mike Roy

  1. My deepest sympathies Tanya, Aidan and Haley. Mike always had a huge smile and was always one of the first to volunteer at so many basketball tournaments.
