Michael Patrick Verhegge 1981 2022

Michael Patrick Verhegge
May 12, 1981 – July 10, 2022
We are incredibly saddened to announce the unexpected passing of our amazing son, uncle and friend on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the age of 41 years.
Michael was a quiet soul with a very big heart. Michael enjoyed the time he spent, cooking, playing Risk, dungeon and dragons, fishing, golfing with his brother Chris, and sitting around the fire while camping with family. His greatest passion was reading sci-fi and fantasy books and spending time with his “Other Mom” Darlyne. His compassionate way with others will be extremely missed.
Michael will always be lovingly remembered by his mom Terri, his “Other Mom” Darlyne (Terry), his siblings Chris (Melissa), Alexis (Kalvin), his nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Creeper” Branden, Layne, Luka, Lilly, Treyson, Kylie and William, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is predeceased by his grandparents, Evelyn and Ira Haight, Uncle Dennis, Aunt Dianne, and Aunt Jacque.
For those who wish to pay their respects, a time of visitation will be held at the Chapel of Affinity Funeral service, 5001 45 Avenue, Drayton Valley on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at Berrymoor Community Hall on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Berrymoor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made directly to Opportunity Home, in care of Drayton Valley Community Foundation, Box 6836, Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1S2.
