Obituary of Michael Grant Porter
Michael Grant Porter, 69, of Currys Corner, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021 in the Hants Community Hospital. Born in Burlington, he was the son of the late Grant and Joan (Benson) Porter.
Micheal spent 48-years making a career driving for Midland Transport Ltd. His cats were his children and Michael absolutely enjoyed taking care of and playing with them. There was no end to the love he had for his family, with a soft spot for his sister, Polly, and his cousin, Joyce; whom he grew up with and thought of as a sister. Michael relished in spending time at his cabin or the beach, this always seemed to bring him comfort and peace.
The day before you left this world, I said to you, “I will always love you and you will never be forgotten.” – Wendy
Michael will be lovingly remembered by his life companion of 18-years, Wendy Lee Spencer of Currys Corner; son, Andrew Porter of British Columbia; sister, Polly of Kentville; cousin, Joyce Hazelton; and dear friends, Roley Drew and Malcolm Sawler.
In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his wife, Joan Porter; and his best friend, David Mann.
A very special thank you to his neighbour, Mona Lake, for taking such loving care of Michael in his time of need.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
