Obituary
MICHAEL WADLEY BROADHEAD passed away on February 23, 2022, loved by family at the age of 67 years old.
Michael was born in Cardston, Alberta, on October 2, 1954, to Norman Ree Broadhead and Carma (Smith) Broadhead.
He was raised in Mountain View in Southern Alberta, and for most of his life lived in Calgary.
As a young adult and after graduating high school, having faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others, Michael received a call to serve a 2-year mission in Australia for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Michael loved sports, especially basketball, riding horses at the ranch and exploring new things. He was never one to be in one place for long.
With an ingrained curiosity, he loved learning, enjoyed reading and observing the world around him. Michael was kind-hearted, genuine and was a quiet presence. He lived a more modest life, grateful for what he had and never complained. His family was important to him, and whenever he had an opportunity, he sought to make connections.
Michael lived a life with varied experiences. He loved meeting new people, helping others when he could and enjoying the time he was able to spend with family. He will be greatly missed by his 4 children: Myriam (Richard) Lamb of Ottawa, ON, Joshua Broadhead of Vancouver, BC, Juliette (Scott) Burgess of Burlington, ON, and Maureen Broadhead of Lethbridge; including his 5 grandchildren, Dylan, Seth, Augustus, Xander and Amélie. He is also survived by his 9 siblings: Michelle Abbott of High River, Reena (Douglas Lott) Sullivan of Provo, UT, Brenda (Douglas) Jensen of Lethbridge, Danene (Michael) Hartley of Payson, UT, Kameron (Shelann) Broadhead of Payson, UT, Douglas (Barbara) Broadhead of Magrath, Raquelle (David) Shipley of Raymond, Valerie (Charles) Maundrell of Surrey, BC and Jennifer (Randy) Bayona of Sammamish, WA. He was predeceased by his loving parents Norman Broadhead (1930-2020) and Carma (Smith) Broadhead (1929 – 2003).
Friends and family are welcome to attend a Funeral Service at the Evan J. Strong Funeral Home NORTH (3625 12 Street NE), on Monday, March 7th, 2022, at 10:00 am.
