24 août 2022
With great sadness matched with incredible gratitude for our time together, we announce the passing of our father, husband, Pepé, son, brother, father-in-law also friend, coach, colleague and loyal Montreal Canadiens supporter, Mike Roy. Mike championed over five years of his battle with cancer with courage, conviction and strength. He passed on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in his 70th year held and surrounded by his children and wife. Beloved husband of Lydia for over 40 years. Loving father of Erin (Guy Evans), Samantha, Sean, and David. Adoring Pepé of Tate and Avery and ‘dog father’ to Hobo and Jake. Born in Hamilton, Ontario to parents Norman and Violet, Michael was devoted to his family and proud of his accomplishments in sales and publishing as both a leader, entrepreneur, and business owner. He made friends everywhere he went; he enjoyed sports and a pint with friends around Etobicoke, he loved travel, music, comedy, laughing, cooking for family and shared his joyful spirit that lives on in the hearts of his family and those he touched throughout his life.
Friends may call in at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., with Funeral Service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Michael’s memory may be made to the Carlo Fedani Cancer Centre – details and links to be updated shortly.
