Michael John Marcotte April 15,1960
It is with great saddens that we announce the sudden passing of Michael after a brief illness at the North Bay Regional Hospital on December 21, 2022.
Beloved son of Jack and Shirley Marcotte, and loving brother of Jason – Ottawa, Maxine – North Bay, Reed (Michelle) – Trenton, and Andrea (Art) – Uxbridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews Kevin, Matthew McCulloch, Kate, Kleigh, Victoria, Robert, Jakai, Kira, Jonah, Lexi, and Levi.
He attended Sacred Heart, Saint Hubert’s, Scollard Hall Catholic School. He enjoyed many sports Wrestling for Northern Ontario. He was a huge fan of Basket Ball and loved to swim, some of his best memories were reminiscing of all the years spending time fishing, camping with the best outdoor fires on Trout Lake.
Michael was a quiet man with huge heart, and a great sense of humor, he was extremely generous with everyone he met, he would give you his last Quarter for the bus. In the later years Michael spent his days with his friends dropping by and his loving cat Bear. Michael also spent years with his friend Rhonda.
The family would like to express their great appreciation to the organizations in the community that helped support Michael over the many years, CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association) especially Bridges and outreach workers.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Hillside Funeral Services on Thursday December 29th,2022 between 2pm and 4pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations in Michael’s memory can be made to Nipissing Serenity Hospice, the Canadian Mental Health Association or a charity of your choice.
