We are so sad to announce the passing of Mervyn Lloyd Olson at the age of 94 on January 9, 2022 at Creekside Landing Home where he peacefully passed this life into the glorious presence of his Lord Jesus Christ.
Mervyn Lloyd Olson was born on September 29, 1927 in Tuberose, Sask to Gibert and Ester Olson. He met Dorothy Laskey in the fall of 1948 and they married on April 15, 1950 in Saskatoon. They had three children, Gilbert, Lorne and Caren. In 1964 they left for BC to begin a new adventure spending 3 years in Kelowna then on to farm in Armstrong where they lived until they retired. They moved to Vernon in 2005.
Merv was predeceased by his father, mother, brothers Gordon and Garland (Garth) and his wife Dorothy in 2020. He is survived by his children Gilbert (Beverly), Lorne (Malanda, predeceased in 2020, Caren (Eldon Brown); 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Eunice.
Our heartfelt thanks goes to the staff at Creekside Landing Independent Living.
Celebration of life will be held on January 14, 2022 at 1 pm, Alternatives Funeral Home with internment at Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery. There will be no reception following, due to Covid restrictions.
