Melvyn (Mel) Herbert Samuel, born December 9, 1924 in Toronto, passed away suddenly on Sunday December 11, 2022, two days after celebrating his 98th birthday. Beloved wife of Hilda Samuel, cherished father of Marianne, Bill, and Paul (Annie). Treasured grandfather of James, Leah (Jay), Miriam, Yoni (Shoshanna), Naomi (David). Great-grandfather of Chaya Sarah, Fayge, Yaakov, Bracha, Chananya, Yosef, Yitzchak, Atara, Talia, Orly and Charlie.
Melvyn was born in Toronto, Ontario. He served with honour in the Canadian Air Force, stationed in England during WWII. He was a pioneer in the travel business in Toronto and went on to teach at Sheridan college and eventually open up his own travel school. His wit, charm, sense of humour and oratory skills were unparalleled. His strength, modesty, smile, laugh, commitment to family and kindness will be greatly missed.
