Melvina’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Melvina Heron (nee Parsons) announce her peaceful passing at the QEII Health and Science Centre, Halifax Infirmary in Halifax, NS on Monday, July 4th 2022 at the age of 74 years.
Born in Rose Blanche, NL, Melvina was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Parsons (nee Herritt). She was also predeceased by her husband; Walter Heron, father-in-law; Adolphus Heron, brothers-in-law; Richard Bunter and Carter Chislett.
She leaves behind her children; Walterine (Dean) Hardy and Jamie (Nicole) Heron, sisters; Mable (Ralph) Skinner, Annie Chislett all of Rose Blanche, NL, Lynn (Shawn) Horwood of Port aux Basques, NL, mother in-law; Hazel Ringer of Labrador City, sisters-in-law; Virginia Bunter and Sharon (Terry) Parsons both of Labrador City, plus a very large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Melvina was a quiet, fun loving person with such a beautiful smile. She enjoyed and appreciated the little things in life; like going on walks and spending time with her family. The family would like to take the time to extend their thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the QEII Health and Science Centre in Halifax, NS.
In keeping with Melvina’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 22nd, 2022 at 2pm from Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL officiated by Rev. Jane Allen.
