HARE, Melvin Keith 1939-2022 – passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, November 18th, 2022 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Barbara Hare (nee Crowley) of Simcoe. Loving father & grandfather of Jordan Hare of Port Dover, his son Aidan; Nancy Hare of Simcoe, her son Josh; and Christine Hare. Mel with be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews & extended family. Lovingly remembered by Barbara’s siblings Terry Crowley (Crystal), Lois Crowley and the late Mary Hird (Jack). Predeceased by his siblings Nellie Hare, Doris Robinson (late Murray), Blanche Miljanovic (late Dusan), Dorothy O’Brien (late Pete), Mable Fletcher (late Art), Clarence “Harry” Hare (late Dot) and Bruce Hare (Martha). Mel was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus 4502 where he served as Grand Knight and was a charter member of Father Mike Dalton Sacred Heart Assembly where he served as Faithful Navigator. Friends are invited to share their memories of Mel with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 211 Union St. Simcoe on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery. Those wishing to donate in memory of Melvin are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of H-N or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
