Melissa May Egan, 36, of Sudbury, passed away on Saturday, April 30th, 2022. She is dearly loved by her mother Mary Catherine (Macdonald) Egan (Phil) and father Kenneth Egan. Melissa was an amazing sister to Nicholas (Caitlin). She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends.
Melissa was an empath and a protector, and this personality led her naturally to a career in health care. After graduating with her nursing degree from Laurentian University, she was able to fulfill her passion of caring for others, specifically by working with the elderly. Melissa encompassed all of the great qualities of being a nurse and enjoyed every aspect of her job.
Melissa’s tender heart also had a genuine love for animals, especially for her pup Pippa, who gave her much joy and happiness. The two were rarely separated; if you didn’t see Pippa, just look in Melissa’s purse.
Melissa approached everything in life with 110% effort and enthusiasm. She loved the outdoors, and made the most of every season, from snowmobiling and skiing in the winters, to running, swimming, fishing, and boating in the summers. Melissa had a quick wit, always with a laugh and big smile to share with you, and often, a new recipe too.
In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Melissa’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Pet Save Sudbury or the St John’s Cemetery.
