Obituary of Melanie Kilby
(nee Gratton)
With broken hearts, the family are letting you know that Melanie Julie Kilby of Arnprior passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute while surrounded by loved ones in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 25, 2022. She was only 35. Beloved wife and best friend of Matthew Kilby. Cherished and devoted Mom of Ella (9) and Logan (6). Dear daughter of Kerry Bedard (Simon Kelly) and Daniel Gratton and daughter-in-law of Liz Kilby and Stephen Lapierre. Special sister-in-law of Derek Lapierre (Ashley), Natalie Lapierre (Jay Robertson), Brandon Kilby and MacKenzie Downton (Shawn Cromwell). Fondly remembered by her adopted parents, Jean and Brenda Gagné as well as their daughters whom she considered her sisters: Emilie Gagné (Tony Legare) and Sarah Gagné (Chris Rosete). Goddaughter of Julie Gratton. She will be dearly missed by the extended Kelly family as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless wonderful friends, coworkers and acquaintances. Melanie’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will take place on Thursday, September 29th from 5 to 7:45 p.m. A Twilight Service to honour Melanie will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel at 8 o’clock.
