Meena’s Obituary
Hoffman, Meena Alta – Age 98 of Torbrook, Annapolis Co., passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born September 28, 1923, Meena was a daughter of the late John and Paulina (Webster) Sherman, and Meena was one of their 17 children. Meena was a long-time member of Nictaux Baptist Friendly Club. She worked at Harry Ritchie’s store, the Middleton Cannery and after having children she returned to work at T. Eaton’s store. Meena enjoyed snowmobiling. She loved to crochet, knit, sew, and made many beautiful quilts. Meena is survived by son, Brian (Catherine Boates) Hoffman; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Meena was predeceased by her husband, Leslie “Dick” Hoffman; sons, Jack Eugene “Gene” (Barbara), and Lewis Dane “Lew” (Barbara). Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date in Nictaux Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Valley Regional Hospital especially Dr. Gillis for her care given to Meena over the last few years.
