Obituary
Ross, M/CPL Warren Bradford – 88, It is with great sadness we the family announces the passing of Warren Bradford Ross on September 23, 2022 at the Roseway Hospital. Born on January 22, 1934 in Stoney Island he was the son of the late Cornelius and Eula (Bateman) Ross. Warren was born in Stoney Island and moved to Clark’s Harbour where he attended Clark’s Harbour School. He attended the United Baptist Stone Church and became a member. Warren then moved to St. Jean, Quebec where he joined the armed forces and was stationed at several bases across Canada. He transferred to CFB Halifax in 1954, and in 1956 Warren and Marilyn where married at the United Baptist Stone Church. Warren also served 3 years in Zeibrucken, Germany and 4 years in Goose Bay, Labrador where he retired in 1971. Warren and his family then moved back home to Doctor’s Cove. Once moving back home Warren then went on to work as the manager of Cove Lobster Ltd until the age of 62. He and his family spent many years at their camp in Upper Clyde entertaining friends, canoeing on the river and taking walks on the trails. Warren was a very kind and loving husband and father. He enjoyed a good challenge especially when it came to badminton, where he won 2 trophies at CFB Toronto. Warren was an avid Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays Fan. He enjoyed going to the beach in the afternoons, where he would have his MacDonald’s coffee and muffin, listening to his country music and would often stop and talk to people walking on the boardwalk. Warren is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Nickerson) Ross; son, John Ross; niece, Renee Swim her daughter, Kelly Frame and grandchildren, Irena and Belin; 3 cousins, Frances Nickerson, Wentzell Ross and Gladys Bateman. He is also survived by his fur baby, Bob. Besides his parents, Warren was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Minard Swim; step-father, Albert “Darby” Nickerson; mother and fathe-in-law, Jack and Lorraine Nickerson and many aunts, uncles and cousins. In keeping with Warren’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. Memorial donations may be made to the United Baptist Stone Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of choice.
