McCOLL-KENT, Elizabeth Elsie

At the age of 100, Elizabeth Elsie McColl-Kent (née Jabusch), of Kelowna, British Columbia, passed away on November 28, 2022.
Elizabeth was born on June 10, 1922, to the late August and Bertha (née Adolph) Jabusch in the Bergheim district near Saskatoon, SK. She was the third youngest of eleven children, with five brothers and five sisters. She attended the country school at Bergheim and worked in Saskatoon as a housekeeper before she moved to Montreal, Quebec to help her sister Alma. It was there that she studied music and took millinery, sewing, and dress making courses. Elizabeth taught music at a studio as well as at home, while she worked for Birks Jewellers in Montreal. In Montreal, she also met Ralph McColl, and they married on July 24, 1943. They resided in Montreal for many years, and upon Ralph’s retirement they moved to Kelowna, BC. Together they grew and tended huge gardens, and Elizabeth continued to teach music. Sadly, in 1989 Ralph passed away. Seven years later, she met Vernon Kent and married him on April 25, 1996. She continued to spend her time sewing and gardening. Sadly, in 2008, Vernon also passed away.
Elizabeth is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 2850 Dry Valley Road, Kelowna, BC.
