Maxine Hughes
1958 – 2022
Mrs. Maxine Mary Alice Hughes passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the age of 63 years. Maxine’s memory will forever be cherished by her family: three daughters, Tracy Dora-Ann Hughes, Teri Delores Dorthea Godin and Shannon Virginia Mae Wood; five grandchildren, Corbin Jacob Hendrick Winter, Breena Evelyn Mary Winter, Madison Maxine Sandra Hughes, Paityn Shannon Teri Hughes as well as Triniti Teri Mae Wood; great-granddaughter, Willow Evelyn Rose Mendocilla; her loving mother, Delores Simpson; two sisters, Pearl Weitz and Joyce McDiarmid; two brothers, Robert Simpson and Douglas Simpson as well as numerous other extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Maxwell Simpson. Maxine was born in Carstairs, Alberta, on May 18, 1958. Throughout her life, she made a point of sharing her beautiful smile with everyone she came across. Also known as the ‘Energizer Bunny’, her energetic nature always had her on the go, and she will forever remain in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. Maxine’s life will be honoured and her memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral.
