At Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville with some of his family by his side, Maurice passed peacefully into his eternal rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Beloved husband of Lorna (nee Duffy) for 50 years. Dear father of Paul (Lynne), Mark (d. 2018), Tim (Rita), Greg (Julie) and Christine. Loving grandpa of Joel, Jessica, Matthew, Jeffrey, Kelsey, Jennifer, Amanda, Daniel, William, Simon and Victoria and great-grandfather to ten grandchildren. Will be missed by brothers Wesley (the late Kate) and Albert (the late Jackie), many nieces and nephews as well as other extended family members and many friends. He was the son of the late David Edward (Ted) Raney and the late Gladys Morrison. Survived by his aunt Vera of Sundridge and uncle Norman (Linda of Brantford.
As a young man, Maurice served in the Military. He was employed in the transportation field all his working life. He started by shunting trailers and progressed to driver and finally Manager of Midland Superior Express. He loved to spend time with his family, travelling throughout North America and visiting friends in England and Northern Ireland. He learned to fly a small aircraft but was unable to continue because of health issues. He was an avid woodworker and many of his creations are treasured by family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m.

A tree will be planted in memory of Maurice in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
