Maurice Bernier Sunday January 2nd 2022

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Maurice John Bernier. He is survived by his brother (Doc) Paul and his sister Helene, son Dennis (Veronica), grandchildren Dennis (Wendy) Trisha Farrell (John) and Great grand children, Logan, Reese, Joe and Gord.
Maurice was born in Chapleau on Feb 29th, 1924 to Arthur and Zita Bernier. Moe Served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II at the age of 17 in 1941 and discharged in 1945. After the war Moe worked at INCO as a crane operator in the Copper refinery until he retired in April 1980. In early retirement Moe loved to travel and spend hours on his bike and swimming in Lake Ramsay. Moe visited his mom almost daily at Pioneer Manor chatting and checking in on her until she passed at 104 in 1990.
We will always remember Moe for his great sense of humor and stories, lots of stories and jokes. We would like to thank the staff of the Walford Retirement Residence for their care while Moe was a resident before he went to St. Gabriel’s Long term care. Our family would like to express sincere gratitude to St Gabriel’s for their excellent and compassionate care. We would also like to thank Kelli Kirkey from veterans affairs Canada.
