Matthew Matchett 2022

Matthew Joseph Paul Matchett, of Miramichi, passed away in Drayton Valley, Alberta, on April 21, 2022, at the age of 27.
Born in Newcastle, he was the son of Deborah (Debbie) Matchett and Paul Beggs. He worked as a pipefitter in the oil fields and was a member of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.
He will be greatly missed by his mother Debbie Matchett of Miramichi; his son Wesley Paul Matchett and his mother Arielle Martin; sister Terri Lynn Matchett of Calgary, AB; two nieces Sabanna and Asia Rae; his maternal grandmother Judy Matchett of Strathadam; paternal grandmother Ernestine (Tine) of Ontario; aunts Lisa Matchett of Miramichi, and Christie of Ontario; and uncles Timmy Matchett (Pauline) of Whitney, and Randy of Ontario.
Matthew was predeceased by his sister Stephanie Matchett; and grandfather Vincent Matchett.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 12 pm until 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm, with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Interment will take place in St Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
