Obituary
Matthew Devon Sonny Reese Cutlip-Spence, tragically passed away on January 28, 2022 in Tadoule Lake, MB at the age of 21. He is survived by his father Anthony Cutlip; mother Shirley Spence; sister Vanessa Beck; daughter McKenzie Cheekie; girlfriend Shirlena Cheekie; aunties, uncles, and other close relatives. Matthew was predeceased by his grandpa John Cutlip; grandma Belva Cutlip; and great grandpa Matthew Cutlip.
Matthew was born March 17, 2000 in Winnipeg, MB. He was a member of the Sayisi Dene First Nation band. Although he faced many struggles throughout his life, Matthew created his own family over the years by surrounding himself with people who loved him. Matthew found joy being out on the land and participating in Dene traditions such as hunting, fishing, and handgames. The real highlight of his life was the birth of his daughter McKenzie. Everyone who knew Matthew seen how he was happiest when talking about or spending time with his little girl.
Matthew will be dearly missed by all who loved him. A viewing will be held in Winnipeg at Eternal Grace Funerals on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 7:00PM-10:00PM. Matthew will then be taken home to Tadoule Lake, MB where his official funeral service and burial will be held.
