Obituary of Mary Marguerite Fraser
NEW GLASGOW – Mary Marguerite Fraser, 82, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow with her daughter by her side.
Born in Pictou, the oldest of six children, she was a daughter of the late James Melvin and Mary Beatrice (Kennedy) Fraser. In earlier years, Mary had been employed with Donato Faini & Figli Canada Limited (sweater manufacture), Michelin Tire and as a private childcare provider. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting. Marguerite was a lady who possessed an enduring faith in her Lord. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton. For Marguerite, “Life has changed; not ended!”
Marguerite will be dearly missed by her daughter, Beverly (Jason) Smith, Beaumont, Alta.; grandchildren, Andrew (Janelle), Keely, Teagan, Connor; great-grandchildren, Tessa and Wesley; sister, Bernadette (Alex) MacDonald, Stellarton; brother, Kenneth “Ken” (Evelyn) Fraser, Westville; many nieces, nephews and cousins; “other daughter”, Tammy (Colin) Campbell, Pictou, and their daughter, Katelyn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12 in Our lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father MacDonald Ibeh presiding. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Special thank you to the wonderful Glen Haven Manor staff for their kindness and the tender care Marguerite received.
