Van De Wynckel: Mary J. (Martens) –
A resident of Chatham, Mary Van De Wynckel passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the age of 93.
Born in Chatham, Mary was the daughter of the late Theophile and Seraphine (Wagenaar) Martens.
Beloved wife of the late Robert Van De Wynckel (2016) for 66 years.
Loving mother of Phyllis and Ralph Brodie, Katherine Ball, Edward and Carol Van De Wynckel and Christine Woodall.
Proud Grandma of Bryan (Angela) Brodie, Kevin (Jessica) Brodie, Jennifer (Sunny) Bartos, Jason (Lori) Ball, Stephen Ball, Amy (Russell) Unholzer, Brittney (Jamie) Pereira, Marybeth Woodall, Virginia Woodall and Stuart Woodall (Jordan).
Sadly missed by 11 great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Dear sister to Alice Boussen (Frank), Robert Martens (Julie) and Agnes Deketeleare (late Andy). Predeceased by her siblings Anthony Martens, Eugenia Staal, Alphonse Martens, Joseph Martens and William Martens.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 5, 2022. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Mary to the Parkinson Society or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
