Mary Elizabeth Weber, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. She was 82.
Born on May 10, 1939 in Bentinck Township to the late Herbert and Minnie (nee Russell) Howie. Mary was a longtime elementary school teacher with the Grey County board of education.
Survived by daughters Susan Galbraith, of Tara, Linda (Eugene) Decoste of Shelburne, Kathy (Joseph) Decoste of Mississauga and Maggie (Jason) Steffler of Burlington. Loved grandmother of James, Heather, Robert, Kathleen, Travis, Thomas, Victoria, Grace, Kayleigh, Keith, Liam and their spouses. She adored her 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her siblings Margaret Johnson of Ottawa, John (Dorinda) Howie and sister in law Norma Howie both of Bentinck Township and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph, son in law Larry Galbraith and brother James Howie.
Visitation will be held at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 10 am until time of a Memorial Service at 11 am. Rev. John Polacok officiating. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery – Columbarium.
Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Parkinson Society or St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
