Mary Rita MacNeil 19532022

Mary Rita MacNeil
1953-2022
Mary
Rita MacNeil, aged 68, gained her angel wings on August 7th, 2022 while resting
at Ivey’s Terrace in
Trenton.
Mary
Rita was born and raised a true “Northender” and
lived her entire life in the tight-knit community. She was a member of
St John the Baptist Church.
She was
a daughter of the late John Ronald MacNeil and Katherine Marie
(McChesney) MacNeil; mother to Jacy (Shaun) and Reanna (Cleve); sister
to Kathy and Ronnie (Susan); Aunt Deedee to Scott and Nicole; and
loving Nannie to Cameron, Breton, and
Cayden.
Mary
Rita was known by many for her bright smile and bubbly personality, a
long-time worker at Zellers, and the “best babysitter” who
loved the kids she looked after as if they were her own. She was an
active volunteer in the community, in particular, Pictou County
Municipalities Crime Prevention with her good friend and “partner
in crime”, Kathy O’Brien.
Her
happiest of places was at the “Merb”. She found joy
in sewing and crafts, and her greatest achievements in life were her
two daughters and three
grandchildren.
Funeral
service will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 11 am at St. John the
Baptist Roman Catholic Church with a celebration of life to follow at
the Church Hall. Donations may be made in Mary Rita’s memory
to Ivey’s Terrance Nursing
Home.
The
family would also like to thank the staff at Ivey’s Terrance for their
impeccable care, and the love they showed her everyday- she truly
thought the world of you all.
Arrangements are under the direction of R.H.
Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Rita MacNeil 19532022..
