It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Priscilla Skinner, 87, of Lunenburg, announce her passing on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg.
Born in Miller’s Passage, NL, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Powers) Drake.
Mary was a member of St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg.
She was a lifelong homemaker who loved taking care of her family, especially enjoying family dinners and taking Sunday drives. Mary was very involved in the Newfie Days celebrations in Lunenburg and they were always looked forward to by everyone in her family. In her spare time she also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, keepsakes her family will cherish.
Mary is survived by daughters, Ellen (Michael) Selig; Spectacle Lakes, Monica (Cecil) Boutcher; Spectacle Lakes, sons, David (Kim); Mahone Bay, Jack (Wendy); Spectacle Lakes, Pat (Tammy); Back Centre; sister, Joan (Pat) Jarvis, Harbour Breton, NL; brothers, Roy (Minnie) Drake and David (Joan) Drake, Harbour Breton, NL. She will also be missed greatly by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Drake, Harbour Breton, NL as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ernest; sisters, Margaret Rose Smith, Elizabeth Organ, Mary Drake and brother, Ernie.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5 from 7-9 p.m. with a memorial service on Monday, December 6 at 1:00 p.m. Deacon Patrick Morris officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Luneburg.
