October 5, 1931 –
September 29, 2022
Our precious Nanny P passed very
peacefully away surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 29th a
few days away from her 91st birthday.
Awaiting her with open arms are her
boys Raymond, Danny and Phonse. Her husband Fergus, her great
granddaughter Desiree, her parents Joe and Bride, and her brothers and
sisters George (Rita), Tom, Della (Will), Jennie (Gerald), Winnie
(Phonse) and Jim (Catherine). Her parents-in-law Austin and Bride and
in-laws William (Kathleen), Anthony (Mary), Loretta, Millie, Eddie
(Loretta), Regina, Sister Thomasina (Rita) and
Mae.
The most important thing to mom was
her family whom she could not have been more proud of. Sunday dinners
with her blueberry pudding, peas pudding and her “one more for
the pot just in case”. Followed by a lively game of scat, a cup
of tea and a laugh. She loved a game of bingo and it was our job to
make sure she got there – even last week!
Nanny P was a pillar of strength that
got us through many of life’s storms. She was a world
traveller. She travelled to Ireland, Las Vegas, Alaska, South America,
Florida and the Caribbean. But her favourite destinations were close
to home at the cabin or in Merasheen surrounded by her
crew.
Leaving to mourn with broken hearts
but beautiful memories her children: Donna (Tony Abbott), Loretta (Tom
King), Jimmy (Madonna), Madeline (Dave Hickey), Francis, Carl
(Sandra), Terry (Dora). Daughters-in-law Monica, Darlene and
Charmaine. 21 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. Her brother
Joe Miller and brother-in-law George Coleman. Special cousin
Dan Murphy (Darlene). Her dear friends Annie Ennis, Martha Lynch, Mrs.
Mulrooney and family. And many more family and friends that became
family.
We would like to thank the staff at
Agnes Pratt and all those who have helped care for Nanny P over the
last few years. You all held a very special place in her heart. Nanny
P always said kindness was more precious than
gold.
