It is with immeasurable sadness we announce the peaceful passing of a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, Mary Maud Tizzard. Maud passed away peacefully at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on September 14th, 2022 at the age of 74.
Maud was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Skanes; brothers Greg Skanes (Sue) and Jack Skanes; sisters Joan Dyer (Richard) and Chrissy Skanes; parents-in-law Charlie and Mary Tizzard; and sister-in-law Libby Abbott (Boyd).
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of laughter and loving memories husband Mike of 52 years, children: Michael (Jillian), Stephen (Erin), and Scott (Jennifer); grandchildren: Nathan, Patrick, Julianne, Clare, and Jeremiah; brothers: Glen Skanes (Pam), Art Skanes (Christine); sisters Irene Bailey (Roy) and Paula Dunn (David); brothers-in-law Robert (Rosemary), and Charlie (Sandy); sisters-in-law: Sheila Bellows, Frances Tizzard, and Mary Tizzard Dean; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Maud’s beautiful nurturing spirit was the purest definition of love, kindness, and compassion, and was unconditionally felt by all. The importance of laughter, love, family, and friendship was a constant in her life, which she shared with others proudly and passionately. Maud had a special tenderness and empathetic nature that will always be remembered.
The family would like to thank the medical, nursing, and housekeeping staff at St. Clare’s for their exceptional care and compassion. A special thank you is extended to Maud’s angels on earth, her sisters Irene and Paula, and niece Lisa, whose unwavering love and loyalty helped Maud and family through this hard journey these past years.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held at Caul’s Funeral home on LeMarchant Road on Sunday September 18, 2022 from 12-4pm, 7-9pm and Monday, September 19, 2022 from 12-4 pm, 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be held at Caul’s Chapel on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 1:00 pm with inurnment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery on Kenmount Road.
