Mary Margaret Minnie Heffernan 1940 2022

On June 3rd, 2022, Mary Margaret Heffernan, affectionately
known as Minnie, peacefully passed away at the RK MacDonald Nursing
Home surrounded by her family.
A resident of South River Road, Minnie was the daughter of
Jack and Florence (Tramble) Greencorn.
Minnie was a committed stay at home mother, always ensuring
that her children were well taken care. When her children
were out of their own, she began her career at the RK MacDonald. A
hard worker, she took great pride in caring for the
residents. She particularly loved to bake biscuits to bring
them in for the residents and staff to share. Minnie was an
avid bingo player and made sure that everyone knew that once bingo
started, it had to be silent with the winner line on speed
dial.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank Heffernan;
son, David (Eileen); daughter, Lisa (John); grandchildren, Andrea and
Breanna Heffernan and Lauren, Andrea, and Brent MacDonald; siblings,
Robert, Barbara (Tom) Connors, and Darlene Cameron.
Predeceased by son, Shawn, siblings, Walter, David, Billy,
Johnny, Patsy, Mike, Bernie, and Donna.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Tuesday, June
7th at C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College
Street, Antigonish. The family has requested that masks be
worn by attendees at the visitation. A private Catholic
funeral service will be held at her request.
In Memoriam, donations can be made to Car-ma or a charity of
choice.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the
caretakers, nurses, and the friends Minnie made at the RK, especially
Sophie the Cat.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Margaret Minnie Heffernan 1940 2022..
