Mary Margaret Anderson
It is with sad yet peaceful hearts that the family of Mary (Dempsey) Anderson announce her passing which occurred July 21, 2022 surrounded by family at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, NB. Born on March 01, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Alden and Louise (Benit) Dempsey.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. Mary is survived by her cherished husband of 55 years, Mike Anderson of Belledune; two wonderful daughters Beverly Peter-Paul (Stephen) of Papineau Falls and Heather Duguay (Ron) of Alberta; two fabulous sons Bill (Marian) of Black Point and Michael Anderson Jr. of Belledune; two brothers Joe Dempsey (Betty) and Melvin Dempsey (Sonia); sister Louise as well as her 8 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also near and dear to Mary’s heart were her 5 nieces, 1 nephew, their spouses and children.
She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Paula Dempsey and Betty (Dempsey) Ross and infant daughter Cindy.
I don’t want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautiful tailored clothes, with my hair expertly coifed and with long, perfectly manicured nails. I want to drive up to the pearly gates in a station wagon that has Boy Scout equipment in the back seat. I want there to be grass stains on my shoes from mowing Mrs Schnecks lawn. I want there to be a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbour’s children. I want there to be dirt under my fingernails from helping 4-Hers plant a garden. I want there to be children’s sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want God to know that I was really here and that I really lived.
Her funeral will be held from St. Gabriel’s Church in Jacquet River on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11 am. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black point.
