Mary Jane
Jeffery – 47, Valley,
Colchester County, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, as a result of cardiac arrest.
Born in Halifax, Mary Jane was a daughter of Sylvia (Wroe) Jeffery,
Truro, and the late Dr. Gordon Jeffery.
Mary Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and friends,
going for drives and sitting in her favourite spot on her back deck to
drink her coffee in the morning. Mary Jane was a force to be reckoned
with and had so much personality and an impact on so many people. She
touched the lives of so many through places that she worked and
volunteered with. We fear that we will leave someone out so we
don’t want to name specifics, rather, let you remember her
in your own way.
Along with her mother, Mary Jane is survived by her husband,
Lee Ormerod; daughter, Leanne Ormerod; sisters, Heather (Steve), Sarah
(Terrence), Kathryn (Kurt); nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Nathan,
Hannah, Vincent, Charlotte. Mary Jane is also survived by a wide
circle of loving friends who she appreciated more than anything. Along
with her father, she was predeceased by her niece,
Kate.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff at Bartimaeus and
the paramedics, doctors and nurses at Colchester East Hants Health
Centre for their extraordinary efforts. As well, we extend our deep
appreciation to Dr. Justin Blaauwendraat for his many years of
care.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2022,
at St. John’s Anglican Church, 25 Church Street, Truro, The
Reverend Lori Ramsey officiating. Reception will follow in Kaulbach
Hall. (Please wear bright colours! Please note that there is an
elevator into the church and hall that is accessible through the link
door between the church and hall.) Interment in Terrace Hill Cemetery,
Kaulback Street, Truro. If so desired, donations in Mary
Jane’s memory to IWK Health Centre Foundation are
welcomed.
