Mary Irene MacDonald
1935-2022
Mary Irene MacDonald, wife of the late Eldon V. MacDonald and formerly of Black River Bridge, passed away at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the age of 86.
Born in Bellefond, New Brunswick, on December 1, 1935, she was the daughter of both the late Henry and Philomene Bennett. She was a beloved Mother and Homemaker, and was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church.
She is survived by her five children: Gloria LaCharite (Steven) of Calgary, AB, Richard MacDonald (Karen) of Black River Bridge, NB, Donny MacDonald (Faye) of Black River Bridge, NB, Kerry MacDonald (Veronica) of Langdon, AB, and Theresa Cabel (Vincent) of Napan, NB; five siblings: Rita Turcotte (Roger) of Drummondville, QC, Cecile MacDonald (Dallas) of Glenwood, NB, Gladys Lefrevre (Don) of ON, Henry Bennett (Dawna) of Fredericton, Theresa Malley (Vye) of Douglasfield; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Malley; and son, Leo MacDonald, grandson Rodney MacDonald; as well as siblings: Leo Bennett, Malinda MacDonald, Eddith Hinchey, Wallace Bennett, Laudia Bennett, and Mabel Bennett.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, from 2-4 PM, and 7-9 PM. A public funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 1 PM, from St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge, NB, with The Reverend Ross Wiseman officiating.
