KENNEY, Mary Etta – 91, It is with profound sadness that we the family of Mary Etta Kenney announce her passing on September 30, 2022 at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. Mary was a resident of the Roseway Manor and thoroughly enjoyed her stay there. Her quick wit and antics were enjoyed by the nurses and residents alike. She brought sunshine and laughter to all who knew her. She will surely be missed by all. Mom’s early years were spent working at Ronnie Hatfield’s store in Clark’s Harbour. She next was employed by Pharmasave, Barrington Passage. The two most important things in Mom’s life were her family and the church. She loved both with a passion. She was a long standing member of the New Testament Baptist Church on the The Hawk. The family thinks she sat in the same pew for 50 plus years. Her faith in God was unwavering throughout the years. Mary is survived by her children, Angie (James), George (Nancy) Kenney, John (Sandra ) Kenney, Rona (Paul), Cathy (Randy) Malone; sister, Janice Crowell; brother, Bradley Collishaw; grandchildren, Tammy Kenney, David Brannen, Ronnie Wickens, Jennifer Ross, Andrew Doane, Kendra Harden, Phoebe, Jade, and Noah Malone; great-grandchildren, Devon, Allie, Jersey, Kansas, Steely, Randi, Charleigh, Kaleb and Eve. Besides her parents, William and Olive (Swim) Collishaw, she was predeceased by her husband, Jackie Kenney; sisters, Annie, Holly; brothers, George, Walter, Buddy, and Joseph in infancy. There will be a visitation held Sunday, from 7-9 pm, at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. The funeral service will take place on Monday, October 3, at 2 pm at the New Testament Baptist Church, The Hawk, with Gary Cunningham officiating. Interment to follow in the Old Kirk Cemetery, North East Point. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund or a charity of your choice.
