It is with great sadness we announce that our mom, Mary Ellen Mayo passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday October 12, 2022 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Brian Mayo. She is survived by her three children, Mary Jane (Tom Lemenchick), Jennifer (Jamie Hawley) and Bill (Kelly Mayo), three grandchildren Alana, Kait and Grace and five great grandchildren, Macy, Lyla, Lewis, Taylor and Jakob. Mary Ellen was born in Fredericton New Brunswick and moved to Chalk River, Ontario with Brian in 1956, where she lived for over 50 years raising her family and being involved in the community. She lived her life with grace and grit, kindness and humour. The way she faced the challenges of the last 12 years was beyond inspiring. We’ll miss her quiet ways and her sweet sighs. We have no doubt she will be walking through the forest somewhere with Brian by her side. The family owes a debt of gratitude to the 2nd floor staff at Revera Carlingview Manor for their amazing care and compassion. They were her second family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Should you wish to make a charitable donation in her memory, please do so to a charity of your choice.
