Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Larder, loving wife of Rick Larder, wish to announce her passing which occurred on July 4, 2022, at Bobby’s Hospice. Mary was born in Bathurst, NB, on December 15, 1954, to the late Everett and Thelma (Hills) Jamieson.
She came to Saint John in 1973 to attend NBCC where she met the love of her life, Rick Larder. Mary started her career in special needs as an MR Counsellor with the Provincial Hospital and ended as an EA in the school system, still in the field of assisting the needs of others in the community and society. She also had various part time jobs while raising her family such as with the RBC, a law office clerk, and an associate with Sears Canada.
She was actively involved with Lunch Connection, feeding school kids, in schools assisting teachers with young children’s literacy and numeracy issues, working with her friends making quilts for cancer patients through the Victoria’s Quilts Canada, Saint John Branch, and was active with the Stone Church teaching Sunday School, served twice as a vestry member, volunteer at Drop Ins at Trinity Church and served on the Board of Directors of the Inner City Youth Ministry.
She and Rick were married for 47 years and have three sons; Jeff, Adam (Kyla) and Scott (Kelly). They have been blessed with 5 grandchildren; Trusdin, Claire, Emmy, Jamieson, and Jaycee, who have brought laughter and joy to Mary’s heart. Besides her husband, children, and grandchildren she is survived by her siblings; Laura (Ted), Stephen (Barb), Stanley (Linda), and Charles (Shirley), special friends Marg and Wally Seely, Ed and Eke van Oorschot, Clare and Leith Box, David and Linda Black, Diane Maloney, Marny Robinson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and other special friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) There will be a Celebration of Life at Stone Church, 87 Carleton Street, Saint John, on Friday July 8th at 11 am. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Stone Church Restoration Fund, Inner City Youth Ministries or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dear Rick. My sincere sympathy to you and your family. I so enjoyed our game nights and Mary’s laughter . There are no words to express how saddened I am to hear of Mary’s passing. She will live long in our hearts and thru the beautiful needle points pictures she created over the years. She was so generous with her time and in helping others. Your game night friend
