Mary (Mollie, Nani) Kirkpatrick, 90, passed away peacefully
Monday, August 1st with family by her side.
Mollie was born in Harbour Grace NL to parents, Jeremiah and Alice
(Mercer) Haire. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert
(Bob) Kirkpatrick; son, Paul Kirkpatrick; grandson, Christopher
Cooling; brothers, Jed Haire, Joseph Haire, William Haire, Bren Haire;
sisters, Eileen Pike and Sadie Alcock.
Mollie attended school in Harbour Grace graduating in a
career as a Teletypist where she was employed with Transport Canada in
Gander NL. After moving to Saint John and Moncton, N.B. to raise her
family, Mollie returned to work where she was employed for many years
with a Craft and Wedding company where she designed flower
arrangements and taught craft classes.
Mollie was an active volunteer in Lioness for over fifty
years. She’s been awarded a volunteer award from the Town of
Riverview and a Melvin Jones Fellowship award from Lions Clubs
International. She enjoyed gardening, walking, reading, travelling,
dancing, lawn bowling, playing cards, various forms of crafts,
socializing with her friends and family and most importantly being
with her grandchildren.
Mollie was a very well-liked person who helped many people
and groups over the years. She was dedicated to her causes and along
with husband, Bob, advocated for the very best for the betterment of
her community.
Mollie is survived by her children Paulette (Scott), Bobby,
Jerry (Beth), and Joanne (Sue); her siblings, Therese, Agnes (Jim),
Bobby (Loretta), Gerald (Greta) and Ken; her grandchildren, Robyn,
Leanne, Brett, Celeste, Dawn and Jennifer; her great-grandchildren,
Courtney, Cassidy, Dustin, Damon, Christopher, Billy, Mia, Zander,
Joey, James, Thomas, Henry and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros Riverview
Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544. A meet
and greet will be held at 2pm on Sunday, August 7, a celebration of
life service at 3pm and a reception at Riverview Funeral Home
immediately following. Masks are welcome.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lions
Foundation of Canada (Dog Guides), the Heart and Stroke
Foundation, Alzheimer’s
Society or charity of donor’s choice.
