Mary Elaine MacLean
January 2, 1952 – October 25, 2022

Mary Eileen MacLean, 70, of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on 25 October 2022, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Mary grew up in Louisbourg, Cape Breton Island, later moving to the Halifax area. She worked as a community health nurse and actively advocated for those under her care. Mary returned to university later to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s University. Mary spent her free time gardening, collecting sea glass, picking berries, or walking her beloved dog Teddy. Mary enjoyed having a musical get-together with her friends from the Metro Fiddlers at every opportunity.
Mary’s family would like to express gratitude to the Palliative Care team at Dartmouth General Hospital for providing support and guidance to Mary and the family during a difficult time.
A celebration of life is planned from 1-4 PM, on 14 November 2022, at the Henry G Bauld Centre at 35 Wilfred Jackson Way, Cherry Brook, NS B2Z 1A8. The event will be an informal social gathering of friends and family to share memories of Mary with live fiddle music and light refreshments.
