Mount Uniacke
Mary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. In her own words:
I fought a good battle, but ovarian cancer won.
I leave behind my husband John, daughters Jennifer (Jeff) and Heather (Andrew) and my precious grandchildren Keira, Gabriel, Erin and Bree. Thank you for the joy you have given me.
I also leave sisters Nancy and Donna and brothers Fred and Chris plus an estranged sister and brother. I was pre-deceased by parents Mary and Bill, sister Kathy and brothers Edward and Jim.
I served with the West Nova Scotia Reg Militia and then joined the regular force. In later years I worked for Commissionaires NS leaving due to my illness.
I would like to thank the incredible doctors and nurses for keeping me alive as long as they did. Thank you to the volunteers in the Sunshine Room and those who brought the treat cart around.
No flowers please – buy yourself something, stay safe and enjoy life. If you see a shooting star that’s me on a joy ride through the universe.
Due to Covid restrictions a private service will be held. Donations can be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada
