Obituary
Mary Luka – a long-time resident of Hines Creek, AB, passed away on May 18, 2022, in Fairview, AB, at 76 years. Mary was born on October 12, 1945, in Tubingen, Germany.
Mom wasn’t a big woman, but her presence was immense. She could be a real firecracker against Dad’s teasing or give the softest hugs. Mom enjoyed exploring with dad, down countless backroads, visiting with family and friends, and living on the farm – everything about it – thousands of sheep, goats, milking cows, raising fancy chickens and ducks, and gardening – vegetables and flowers.
Mom was incredibly hard-working and always put her family first. She was fiercely proud of all of them.
Mom is predeceased by: her son, Rick (2020); father, Bill Bandurak (2012); mother, Annie Bandurak (2000); and brother, Mike (1978) as well as numerous other family – inlaws and outlaws.
Mom is survived by her husband and best friend of 57years (married 55), Joe; son, Bill; daughters, Sandra and Cindy; grandchildren, Breanna (Ryan), Barrie (Cory), Brody (Kingsley), Jolene, Jackie; great-grandson, Beckham, as well as her sister, Lesia Porcina and brother Steve (Joanne Bandurak).
We will miss her dearly.

Our family would like to send our sincerest appreciation to her caregivers at the Fairview Health Complex – Dr. Sally Andreiuk and Dr. Harley Irvine and the nurses. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
On Thursday, June 2, 2022, Funeral Services will be held from the Dave Shaw Memorial Complex in Hines Creek, with interment at the Hinterland Cemetery.
