Suddenly, at his home in Tillsonburg on Sunday, May 29, 2022, Martin Hans Jahnke, formerly of Union, passed away at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Mary Ann (Schneider) for 57 years. Proud and loving father of Lisa Walker (Bob) of St. Thomas and Martin Jahnke of B.C. Cherished Opa of Kristen Stewart (Jordan), Taylor Walker (Jess), Christopher Walker (Josh), Wolfie Jahnke and great-grandfather of Payten and Cohen Stewart. Dear brother of Werner Jahnke (Edith) and Theodore Jahnke (Mary Ann). Martin is also survived by many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in-law. Predeceased by his parents Otto and Charlotte Jahnke and his sister Anneliese Weiler. Martin farmed tobacco and vegetables in Union for many years.
Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm The Funeral Service for Martin will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Young Street, Tillsonburg on Saturday , June 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Schallhorn officiating. Interment will follow at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the Jahnke family.
