Obituary of Martha Sawatzky
Martha Sawatzky (nee Rempel) passed away peacefully, at the age of 94, on April 10th, 2022, at her residence at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville, Manitoba.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand, her partner of over 70 years. Her loss is deeply felt by her children Ray (Clara), Lenora (Peter), JoAnne (Ron), Allan (Brenda), and Donna. Also, by her treasured grandchildren Daryl (Meg), Jerome (Vanessa), Craig (Rachelle), Bud (Tina), Adam (Rhea), Cami (Len), Jaycee (Kenan), Cody (Kristen), Scott (Beth), Alexa, Cheyenne and Zen.
She leaves behind a wealth of great-grandchildren including Cole, Morgan, Bailey, Kirsten, Denielle, Cavan, Rayne, Payton, Griffin, Emilia, Lukas, Jakob, Charlie, Ainsley, Sadie, Julian, Lestat and Emily.
Martha was born and raised in Morden, Manitoba. Through life and marriage, she called many places home including Winnipeg, Steinbach and Niverville. In her final years she developed a great appreciation for the staff of the Heritage Life Personal Care Home who provided such excellent care that, to Martha, it too felt like “home.”
The public livestreamed funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing prior to the service. The interment will take place at Hespeler Cemetery, Niverville, MB. To join the family via livestream please click HERE shortly before the time of the service.
